    When I signed up, I had a brain fit, and gjat is what I came up with. I like being anonymous because I get tired of all those hot women tracking me down an stalking me. (It irritates the wife so!)

    Or it could be as crative as using my initials.

      My name is two fold;

      When I was much younger there was a development being built by my house and all the kids would hang around and bother the carpenters who did not speak english very well. One guy kept calling us "little mudder-uppers" which was short for another word (not very nice).

      When I got older I began racing mud trucks until they got too expensive to run. I sometimes miss the old mudpits but family comes first.

          I repair band instruments for a living. Most of these repairs involve the replacement of small leather covered discs,called pads. So, instead of the word "bad",I substituted "pad".

            I used various names in forums and chatrooms before, but never my first name alone because it is a pretty common name and it's always taken by the time I sign up.

            When I was signing up for this forum, I was getting ready to come up with another variant of my online names. Then I thought, "What are the chances of having another female woodworker named Anna who also owns a BT3100 and is already a member of this woodworking forum?"

            Apparently, not much.

                Well........

                I got the nickname Bugsy when I was a young engineer out of college responsible for 5 million gallons of bacteria in an industrial wastewater treatment plant. I was always looking at the "bugs" under a microscope to see how they were doing.

                The "IB" came in as I found out that Bugsy is a very common online name. My daughter was using IBNice as an online name and I stole it from her.

                    Hanging around the house, due to waiting on finding out info, on a piece of equipment for work today. It ends in a couple of hours, and will save us quite a bit. But depressed, as it's supposed to be my day off....

                      I used to use creative usernames, but I figure in a public forum if I'm going to say something, I'd better be willing to take the heat for what I say. That and I'm kinda absent-minded, so I stick with my first initial (Grover) and last name.

                        An intentional misspelling of the greatest wood in N. America. Second "L" added for emphisis; not sure it works but that was the why.

                                Username is the resule of no imagination and terrible memory.

                                Chris, my favorite weapon is a re-worked to single shot silenced Colt Woodsman. Surprised you guys in the SEALS didn't have one. All of us "civillian contrators" in Nam had one, along with the Swedish Gustav subs.
