    Saw Stop Saw

I was in a local store today and they had one on display. I watched the commercial and looked the saw over, but I was not impressed with the saw. The part about stopping quickly before it cut your finger off was great.

They told me that not only would Your finger stop the blade, reflective tape like on plexiglas and anything with silicone also would stop it. The cost everytime it stops is $61.00 using regular blade, $89.00 if using dado blade.

It also was too big for my shop and so heavy it would break the concrete. Bill

Having looked at the saw inside and out, I had the opposite reaction, Dud. I thought it was well designed and built like a tank which spoke well for itself without the "stoppy thingy-a-ma-gig". I feel the saw is able to stand alone without the "stop".

I won't comment on the feature as that has been drug through the mud with legal issues with the inventor wrestling in court over mandatory use with the manufacturers. It has evolved into more than a safety issue.

    Regards...

Here is a link to My local store and the areas they serve. Sarge I did not say it wasn't built like a tank, what I tried to say was, it wasn't for me. Bill
