Thoughts and prayers or with you and your family. Your Son is an smart person to know what he wants and at such a young age. Maybe he will get lucky and not get sent to Middle East.

      Gary,

Having spent quite a few years in SE Asis as a "Contract Employee", I have worlds of respect for your son.

My mother felt exactally like you do when I finally told her some of what I was doing. Medics are literally, the life's blood of a soldier.

Be proud of your son, be really proud. He's doing something most kids his age won't.

I surved all those years and so will he.

God's speed for his entry and safe return with prayers and deep respect for "all" that serve and have already served!

Just a note from having been there Gary, the guys form a deep bond and take care of each other if they are called to the "big show". Trust him.. trust them and trust that "God is walking point".

With Highest Regards to all that serve...

I want to thank everyone who responded; I'll pass them along to my son (Nathan).

We're going to have an opportunity to talk to his recruiter on Thrusday night. Any questions we should be asking based on your experience?

Sarge has it right - make sure he understands the contract, and put his trust in the right place.

Our thoughts are with him as they are for all of this generation who serve.
