Don't worry, after he gets the new saw, he is being terminated and replaced with a small perl script!

Probably a production shop.... Although it would be cool to see an automated saw in action.

Nice looking saw, but that Tiger Stop display looks like a kid's calculator!

Um, no, I don't have seven grand sitting around right now...

I have visions of this for the next James Bond movie:

"Mr. Bond, we tranquilized you and have immobilized you to the bed of our Robland automatic saw. Using the TigerStop device we have set it at a speed of 1 mm/sec, which means it will take you approximately 30 minutes to be sawed in half from head to toe. We'll start at the feet, of course, so you have time to think about your predicament."

Of course 007 would find a way to get out, and the villain would probably end up with a dado through the forehead.

The way my brain thinks sometimes...

You know, if that saw were equipped with SawStop technology Bond would have nothing to worry about...

I don't know about that. Considering in Goldfinger that laser was going to
start slicing right where I wouldn't want it to start slicing...I think even a little
                  nick would hurt.

I live in the next town over from the guy selling the saw. Now I gotta' know
                  where he buys his wood.

that is certainly not a hobby saw! a beam saw with a tiger stop os a high end production setup. the tigerstop setup with hold repeatable tolerences within .002" and is computer programmable for calculating yeild.

                        1: Bond wouldn't know that.
2: Wat body part would the saw first detect. I don't think even saw stop could stop the pain that would be inflicted.

Generally speaking, these death devices go between the legs which are immobilized in the "spread-egale" position. They would then hit the private parts first. Given that the circumcision rate in England has been 1-4% in recent times, I suspect that a saw equipped with the SawStop device would produce an unanticipated circumcision in Mr. Bond and nothing more. (One could argue this would be a longitudinal incision of the foreskin, not a "circumcision", but let's not quibble over semantics.)

Now an American spy would face an 80% chance of a very painful cut, as that has been our circumcision rate until very recently.

[In case you're interested, circumcision decreases the rate of HIV acquisition by 60%. Abstinence decreases it to almost zero, but in my experience as a physician specializing in STD's this has not been too popular, either.]
