With Loring coming close to Monty's post record we need to figure out his new tag line. "Forum Windbag" has been retired in memory of Monty so what's going to work for Loring? Any suggestions?

What's all the hoopla about the number of posts? Some of us must like typing more than others, or have the time, or can read faster. Anyway, how about Mr. Post Toastie.

Actually, its because Monty, who is the record holder, was a great guy who always had time to answer questions. He was a stalwart of the forum but he passed away suddenly and unexpectedly earlier this year. We've kind of wondered what to say about the new post leader when the time came. Loring's in the same mold and just beating Monty is not in his thoughts. I should have given the history in my original post. Here's the story http://www.bt3central.com/showthread...ighlight=monty. My apologies to all.Originally posted by cabinetmanWhat's all the hoopla about the number of posts? Some of us must like typing more than others, or have the time, or can read faster. I don't think its such a big deal.
I enjoy posting beacause I think I can offer something for people who appreciate it.
In truth, I passed Monte long ago; Both Pappy and I had over 5000 posts and more than Monte last Feb but when the software changed I lost about a thousand on my count. I did not complain about it then.

For you new readers, as Ken said, these are not about the high post numbers for numbers sakes, these are people who help, offer encouragement, wise advice and just plain experience - and humor to boot. There have been a few people that posted in spurts to get higher numbers but they fell by the way side.
Most of the people with high numbers, you can go back and see some great great information. It is a TRIBUTE to see just how much these people help others without any condescension that occasionally comes with top posters of some forums.
Loring can be counted on to give the technical as well as the practical info that is needed.
THANKS AND CONGRATS - Loring!Hank Lee

Silverfox was near the top of the list at one time too.
I agree, it's not about the count but the comradarie(sp) that is shared here. As the membership has grown, I find myself reponding less since the answer/view I would offer has already been posted by someone else.Don, aka Pappy,

The only time the post number should count is when you are installing a fence. It then becomes very important.
Loring is one of the reasons this Forum is what it is. Free help and exact formulas and priciples explained for the laymen and hobbiest. Thanks and congrats to all that give it freely.LeeComment
