Didn't want to get this Email

This is a copy of an email I received this A.M. from a friend I served with in Vietnam. Man this is a kick in the teeth. Bill

    Hi Bill and Sam

Hope you don't mind sharing this e-mail, thought I'd let you both know what's going on. During May I went through a whole series of tests and we found out that the bone cancer had spread to the bone marrow. In June I went into Hospice Care here at home. The Doc's give me about 5 months, around Dec. 22. If I make it that far I don't see why I can't make New Years, that's my plan for now. Just wanted you both to know. The Hospice team said I wouldn't have any pain, they've taken care of that so it won't be so bad. I've been fighting this for ten years now and I'm getting really tired.

I'm good and Jacquie and I have just about taken care of everything so it's all right here.

You two take care of yourselves and the best of luck to both of you.

    Your Friend,

    Bill

Thanks Everyone, I really don't like to talk about Vietnam, but these Guys don't deserve to leave the World this way. We didn't know anything, I was fresh from the farm, and was raised to do as I was told. Who would have thought that Our own people were poisoning Us. My Thoughts, Bill

                Dud,

My sincerest sympathies to your friend and his family, and of course to his dear friends and old comrades like yourself.

I lost a great friend a couple of years ago. I remember the day he was drafted into the Marine Corp and also the wonderful day he returned from service in Vietnam, just in time to be the best man at our wedding, back in 1967.

Two years younger than I, Bob was a great guy. I guess being dowsed by Agent Orange a couple of times while on patrol was his undoing and he finally lost a long battle with cancer.

It is so sad that service to our country, all too often, comes at such a high cost; not only to those in the field, but to the families that suffer both during the illness and long after the loss.

                May God bless you all,

                CWS

                  Bill,

So sorry to hear of your friend. I was 4F* during that awful time, and have the highest regard for the Vietnam vets. They did so much for us and received so little thanks.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your friend!

By the way, your tag line brought a smile to my face. I havent thought of Mr Charles or Miss Babe in a long time..."Mr Charles, he ... he were killed outright but Miss Babe was alright till me and Junior turned her head around" Brother Dave Gardner.

Skip I guess We are from an era, that really understood what Bro. Dave was talking about. I remember the one where the Guy was selling Bomb shelters, The customer said, Yeah I'll take one or several, I'll pay You if I need it. I was stationed at Shaw AFB, during two of my 6 month TDY's to Vietnam. Bill

Sorry to hear about that Bill. Many of you vets have been through a lot and noe of them deserve that. That kind of news is never easy to take. Thank god for Hospice and the compationate work they do. I wish your friend a peaceful end to his long journey.
