    "Junk Brothers" Premiers Tonight

While channel surfing the other day, I caught a promo for a new series on HGTV called Junk Brothers. The premise is that a couple of guys take cast-off furniture pieces or appliances and recycle them into something new and unusual.

I don't know a thing about the show other than what the web site shows, it might prove to be totally lame, but the promo I saw looked interesting enough that I made a note to watch it.

HGTV at 10:00 Eastern and Pacific, 9:00 Central.

    (Edited to fix air times)

Maybe this is a Canadian show becasue it has been up here for awhile already on HGTV.
Kind of cool. The one I caught they took an old clothes dryer and made a desk. I think they used the drum to make a chair.

AHA! So THAT'S why the web site in the link above shows Thursdays at 9:30 ... that looks to be when the show airs in Canada.

Here in the Colonies, it's Wednesdays at 10:00. According to HGTV.com, anyway.

Am I going to have to start doing a 1/2 hour compensation now when I call Canada, the way I do when calling India.

          Oh, my aching head!!

I agree, those half-hour time zones in India just break my head. Bangalore is 11.5 hours either ahead or behind me, I still can't remember after 3 years. Why can't they just be 12 hours difference and then it would be real easy.

just starting watching it (tivo BA-BY)

I haven't made it to the credits yet but I'm sure it's Canadian, eh?

Acutally, its like Norm Abrams meets Martha Stewart. They go out on junk collection eve (my favorite holiday too) and pick up some stuff. Take it back to the shop (sponsored by porter cable also) and make something different and nice out of it. Then return it to the owners that they "liberated" it from.

While I don't have the channel to see it, I did see a preview of it somewhere. Looked interesting, but I can easily picture something happening, that I know would happen locally. They get arrested for trespessing, and illegal dumping when trying to return the trash.

actually, you can not be arrested for garbage picking. When somebody leaves something on their tree lawn for garbage pickup, you can legally take it.

                        Reread the statement!

I never said arrested for picking, I said arrested for returning (which once you have taken, is considered dumping if you don't have permission).

I know I saw the ad for it but I didn't see it on last night. Time Warner as well.

Found it! 2 AM Thurs, 10 PM Wed in my area.

Strange how one channel can have such different times!
