Why you should never forget your cell phone

Okay, so today, I had to be somewhere at a certain time. I was riding my bike there (only 2 miles), and along the way (after about 1/2 mile) I saw a old riding lawn mower, that was sitting on a tree lawn, waiting for garbage collection. Was gonna call some buddies to take it home for me, but, forgot the phone, so I couldn't do anything, just had to keep going. Now, I have been on that street many times, and garbage wan't collected until way after I would be back. So I planned on having a good chance of getting it, assuming that nobody would take it before I got back. Well, when I got back the entire street had had the garbage collected, 3 hours early, and the mower was nowhere to be found.

And the worst part is that I am looking for a new mower, and that one might have been just the right size for my yard.

You heard the saying "You snooze, you lose". Me - I would have gotten off the bike and walked the mower and bike home.

Or strap the mower to the bike?

The chief cause of failure in this life is giving up what you want most for what you want at the moment.

if you were mcGyver, you would have
rebuilt the lawnmower engine using some silverware found in the same garbage pile as wrenches, taken the steering, gearing and brakes off the bike and added to the lawnmower, and then turned the blade to act as a propeller to make it go 20 mph, distilled some alternative fuel using some leftover wine and spoiled orange juice in the garbage heap, and then tooled your way back to your house just before the garbage heap exploded.

And still make it to your appointment on time.
