Hard to say without knowing more about how that range of sizes breaks down. I ran the numbers; if all the pieces were the size of his smallest numbers, the cost would be nearly $23 per board foot. If all the pieces were the size of the large, it'd be under $2/BF.

I would think that the sheer size of the pieces (i.e., none smaller than 7' long and 26" wide) would make this batch more valuable than the average load of walnut. Those are some BIG slabs of lumber!

Moving those slabs around would not be easy. It would take several guys to move / lift one.

A S-10 pickup is not going to get that load home.

Exactly my thought. If they weren't properly dried, they would be worth far less. And I would imagine it would be more challenging to dry such large slabs. And he doesn't say how they were dried or anything.

If they were dried properly, they may be worth quite a bit north of $15k.

If you take average - 9.5' x 33" x 2.5", that's about 2875 BF total, so just over $5 per BF. Whoever decides to buy will likely inspect the wood in person before forking over the cash.

If I was spending that much on wood, your darn right I will inspect it in person. No way would I take some persons word and a couple of pictures at face value.
