Bill,
I am just getting a chance to read this thread. I will start praying for a smooth recovery. Sam's aunt had a liver transplant a little over two years ago. It was a long recovery but she is doing fabulous and is in the best health she has been in years.

We got some good news yesterday. After close to 10 hours the actual transplant surgery was a success. He'll be in the hospital for at least a week. They are there to make sure his body doesn't reject the new organ. Also apparently, the medication or not able to be taking certain medication provides a risk that the cancer could attack the new liver if it is still there. I don't understand this part, but there is still some risk and barriers to overcome. The quick and timely support and prayers are GREATLY appreciated.Comment

That's good news... Your uncle has a ways to go yet. Tell him to do what the docs say (us old guys sometimes think we know better what's best for us...). Find him a cute nurse...
