    GPS is pretty cool.
Basically for $100-200-300 you get free access to a $10 Billion satellite navigation system provided for free by your government to the world and lovingly maintained.

Beware, though, your cell phone if set next to the GPS receiver in your car can interfere with reception.

YOU DONT HAVE TO TRAIN TO BE MISERABLE. YOU HAVE TO TRAIN TO ENDURE MISERY.

        That's nothing.
When I was in Norway for a month last january
I walked in the hotel room turned on the computer and let it start booting and connecting to the 802.11G wireless in the hotel.
As it was booting I opened my cell phone to call the office
As I was talking the computer blue screened. Would not even boot after that. Took me a day and a half to recover and luckily I had a Win 2000 installation disk and was able to run DOS and replace the registry.

The very next day the same scenario, start the computer and make a phone call it it happens again. Took me only 20 minutes to repair the disk, this time.

I never did that sequence again, I waited for a complete boot before making any calls and never had trouble again. I'm sure I could reproduce the problem if I had to.

I suspect that somewhere in the wireless drivers boot/startup the signal interference made a bad signal that there was a program bug failed to hanlde correctly and it destroyed the registry at that point. Normally it should recover from interference and in fact I have made many calls while the computer was running but never while it was booting apparently.
