Very very true. I lend tools to only one brother and my Dad. My brother qualifies because every tool he's borrowed was returned when he said he would in as good or better condition. My Dad, cause, well he's my Dad and besides, I am sure he is way up on me in the broken tool dept.David

Funny and true!
Interesting history on this comic strip--see link on above page. I love the comics--first page I turn to when I get home. Blondie still hits my funny bone frequently. My other current favorites are Dilbert, Zits, Doonesbury and Wizard of Id. I'm still in withdrawal from Calvin and Hobbes and Bloom County, and waiting to see if Cow and Boy (new strip) will fill the void. I am a big fan of Zippy the Pinhead, which unfortunately our local paper doesn't carry.
In my biased opinion a strip can be very funny but crudely drawn (Dilbert) or well drawn but not always funny (Get Fuzzy) and still be OK. However, Cathy misses out on both accounts. My son and I read every Cathy for 1 year without finding a single strip that was worth the 3 seconds wasted reading it. Fortunately, our paper agreed and no longer carries it.
Still, I miss the old days with Snuffie Smith, L'il Abner, Pogo, Nancy and Peanuts. I even miss Gasoline Alley, which I was too young to really appreciate. The golden age of comics...Jeff

www.chron.com then look at the entertainment button on the top toolbar and comics.

You're right--and I still don't understand L'il Abner, Gasoline Alley or Pogo most of the time--but boy are they well-drawn!Jeff

That Houston Chronicle site is the beans. I built a personal comics page there about two years ago, and it's been part of my morning office routine ever since.
Pogo was one I never did understand. Not as a kid, not as an adult.
Gasoline Alley! I'd forgotten all about that. A while back I dumped Get Fuzzy (an interesting concept, but decidedly un-funny) and added Wizard Of Id mainly because I didn't want to think about the selection for too long. I may get rid of it and try GA for a while.LarryComment
