I drink lite beers when I am playing pool. They are also good during summer when you've been outside all day doing whatever. I drink lighter stuff - lagers and pale ales during summer and switch back to the porters and stouts during the winter.
I am also a fan of the Rogue beers. Rogue Dead Guy Ale is a good beer and has a cool name. It also comes in a 200z bottle.

Isn't that the truth. I never saw Miller Lite much until I moved to FL. Everybody seems to drink it. I even buy it when I'm feeling cheap or just want to pound. Those fancy beers aren't good for a hot summer day outside.Originally posted by Jim BoydYa'll are nuts! The best beer is free and cold
The only beer I don't like to drink is Miller Lite

beer
I am a guiness fan as well -smithwicks too
Yuenglings is good too.
Otter creek in vermont makes good beer.
Saranac makes some good dark beers.
I also like some of the fruity beers.
There is a brewery in Mass. Wachusett - Makes a tasty blueberry beer.
we have a couple of local brewery/restaurants that make their own around here as well that are pretty good.Comment

Ya, Yuengling is considered a bit of a wee-wee beer around this area. You can get it for $3 a picture or $.50 per 10 oz Pilsner glass round here. I'm not a big fan, course I'm not a big fan of Lager. The Yuengling black and tan is ok, but certainly not in the same realm as a freshly poured Bass over Guiness. Saranac is a decent beer for the price and there black and tan is decent (again for the price, after all I allowed to be a snob here!).Originally posted by Tom SlickI've had Yuenglings when visiting the east coast. it is not distributed in the west. good beer if you are a fan of lagers. I am more of an ale kind of guy.
Bert Grant makes some great beer. His "perfect porter" is perfect!
most any micro brew beer from the pacific northwest is good. for some reason portland and seattle are meccas for micro brew.
I haven't gotten a lot of mileage out of a lot of the West Coast beers such as Anchor and Sierra, though I have enjoyed a lot of the smaller regionals thoughout CA.
Bass and Newcastle are my stand by. One of the great things about Vegas is you can get all the Newcastle you want in the bottle! In Atlantic City I am forced to drink Corona (no fruit) or large glasses of Kettle One. It is amazing that they will pour up a premium spirit in AC, but only serve cheap beer.
Local beer wise, I am currently in love with a Milk Stout which is produced by Lancaster Brewing company. Less carbination and head than Guiness but hops and malt along the same lines, with maybe a Scottish Ale hint. Oh, ya thats another one . . . Scottish Ale, practically any brewer!
Crocket, I was amazed when I went to NC and saw that Yuengling was considered a premium beer and demanded Bass and Sam Adams pricing! NC has its advantages though, as you can go to the local Harris Teeter or Food Lion and get a 6 pack of Newcastle where I am forced to buy a whole case! LOL! I have not noticed the selection is greater here in PA than the better stores in NC. Plus you can always make a run to the SC border!Comment

Someone mention BEER?
Ahhh.....My favorite subject.
There is a place in Allston, MA called the Sunset Grill. Great wings and 400 bottled beers. Plus 100 Kegs on tap.
Beer list is 8 pages long. I know it well. If you go through the keg list 3 times, your name gets on the "Wall of Foam". You have to spend like $4500 in beer alone. not to mention wings or nachos....
Life is too short to drink cheap beer..............
I enjoy two types of beer......Free and Budweiser(light)
Yes, I enjoy the IPA's, the porters, the fruity beers, the barley wines, the Germans, some of the dark stuff too.
Beer of choice for the friday night after a good week at work. Bud light.
Monday night football. Bud light. Birthday beer.....Bud light.
See a trend.
There is a place in California that has like 250 on tap, but it doesnt have the beer list like the Sunset Grill.
Plus, the wings are great.Maybe...........Comment

I don't consider Sam Adams a premium beer. In any case, down here anything not brewed by the big 3 US brewers is a premium beer. At Walmart Yuengling is not that much more than the generic stuff and is a whole lot better. Right now it is my standby, but I think the JW Dundee has replaced it.Originally posted by Jeffrey SchronceCrocket, I was amazed when I went to NC and saw that Yuengling was considered a premium beer and demanded Bass and Sam Adams pricing!David

Sam Adams seasonal brews are very nice. You are right, I lived in NC my whole life until I moved up here. Busch, Bud, Miller. I used to work for some non-profits, running the concession stands at CMS. You have no idea how crazy people would get when they were at Charlotte Motor Speedway and couldn't get Budweiser (freaking Busch race dude, what do you think they will sell??!?!?)Originally posted by crokettI don't consider Sam Adams a premium beer. Seems to me Anheuser-Busch makes both. Rednecks can get pretty picky about their beer. I think it has something to do with those frogsOriginally posted by Jeffrey SchronceI used to work for some non-profits, running the concession stands at CMS. SEEEEE!!! That was the argument that we had to endure! Man, did they love that Bud however it was way before the reptilian theme. Some enterprising young fraternity men brought their legal allocation of Bud into the race and sold it to the masses. They often made more money doing that than running a concession stand from 8 am till midnight for a weekend.Comment
