    What I did this weekend

Reassembled and leveled this thing by myself. I put the main structure on rollers to be able to move it. Also had to use a come along on some trees after leveling to pull it plumb - Even though it was level it was racked - before attaching the swing structure.

After I attached the swing beam to the legs I squared it up then added a temporary brace before attaching to the main structure and leveling it.

This would have gone much faster with help but everybody was busy this weekend and I was tired of it being in pieces in the yard - been there for almost a month.

There is a roof but that will either take two people or me disassembling it to get iit up there.

I decided I would take 2 hours and replace my dads mailbox & post. 6 hours later I am done. Lets see..

      1. Dug around the post, got the jack out to try the old trick of poping the concrete out.
      2. Broke the post off right at ground level.. grrr..
      3. Spent an hour beating the crap out of the concrete with a sledge wondering what dumb... put this much concrete in here. Then I remembered I did. Took 1.5 hours to get all 26" of concrete broken up and out.
      4. Fixed the design of the cedar so the newspaper boxes were out as far as the mailbox. Nothing like the smell of cedar on the CMS..

Then one of my guys calls out for tomorrow so I had to waste time trying to get someone to cover. Some days being a supervisor sucks, like getting called at home on weekends or vacation days or holidays.

I am in the process of building an 8' X 10' storage shed so that I can get the lawn equipment and some other stuff out of my shop so that I have more room.

Spent the weekend with LOML building an 8X12 shed. We need it for the lawn and garden stuff and to make more room in the basement shop. We are not done yet but should be able to finish it this week or next weekend.

                Shelves and Bowl Blanks

I finally finished the shelves in the master bedroom closet -- who ever designed a closet with 2 135 degree inside corners in a closet should be shot.. If you you really want to find out how well your saw is tuned try cutting 12" melamine miters.

Then today I moved and culled the wood pile. I was going to chain saw some logs but it started to rain, so I hauled a bunch of previously chainsawed logs into the shop and cut 29 bowl blanks -- I would have been 30 but one of the sycamore blanks was so punky I tossed it. I still need to go through the scraps to see if there are any bottle stopper or pen blanks there. There were a couple of scraps left that will probably turn into small bandsaw boxes..

I got all the mahogany jointed, planed and cut to final size for my upcoming rocking chair class. I also built a crosscut sled for my BT (usable but not done yet).

Mom's Alzheimer's took a nasty turn on Sat. Dad (age 82) called in a dead panic because the staff couldn't get her to cooperate so I took Dad out for the day while My wife took care of (her) Mom. Took the grandkids to Ice-Age II that night. It was a day well spent doing the right things. Later,

PS. I hope no one thinks that I'm patting myself on the back! I owe these fine people everything not the least of which is my wife so, while stressful it is my honor to do what I can.
                      Blessings,
