I feel your pain. I did something similar a couple of years ago with a small straight bit in my router table. Looked like I had gills on a couple of fingers for quite a while. Always unplug the router when you go to change bits so that when you hit the power instead of the collet lock you don't take off bits of finger
I can only please one person a day ........

      Hey guys,

Thanks for all the kind words. Unfortunately, I have no one to blame but my own stupidity.

I gues my pentance for this mishap is to have 3 fingers in Looney Tunes band-aids until I heal. It serves as a reminder of just how stupid I was.

Again, thanks for the kind words.

Pappy, my wife knows this rule when it comes to being in my shop: Do not touch me or yell at me when my back is to you and the tool is on. Wait until it is off and I see you before talking to me.

It's because of this rule that I have reorganized my shop so that the door to the shop is visible from most tools. Exceptions being the miter saw and drill press.

All I have to say is ouch
It was inevitable everyone is bound to do something like this eventually
I just hope when I do something like this its not too bad because I know when it happens once it won't happen again
