    Woodcraft Satisfaction

I bought the Dewalt Dado set from Woodcraft last Dec and was cutting some dados Thursday and after getting the right width I was removing the blade and noticed something black in the sawdust. Some of the carbide tips had broken off of one blade. I couldn't find anything the blade could be hitting so I packed it up and went to Woodcraft. I didn't have a receipt and as I was telling what happened I ask could they do anything about it. I was told to get another one or I could get a refund. No one there had opened the case at this point so I ask them to open it and look at the blade.Their response was " there is no need to look at it. I trust you are telling me the truth " I like doing business with people like that.

Although I enjoy shopping at Woodcraft, that's the only area that I have found lacking at mine. Thay won't take anything back unless you bring your receipt, your lawyer, and a note from your mother. That, and the fact that they want to charge DOUBLE for a sheet of 1/2" MDF than what they get for a sheet of 3/4". More money for less material. They won't attempt to explain it, except to admit that they rely on their computer, rather than simple logic.

I see you're in FL. That wouldn't be the one in Casselberry you're talking about would it? I can tell you they wouldn't take it back.

The owner fired the manager because he let a customer use a Woodcraft 10% coupon on a $2000+ multi-router. It wasn't an exclusion and the customer had to argue for it but the manager gave it to him. Too bad he lost his job over it for making "poor business decisions".

I use the Casselberry Woodcraft as a store of last resort. I enjoy going to the seminars there, but unless there is a great bargain, i won't shop there. I will look and touch, but then order from the web and pay a normal price for it. And I have to agree with Brian, the owner is not the most customer service friendly person I know. That is, unless your going to spend 2 or 3K in his store.

I agree, Ken. Paul and Brenda, along with the rest of the staff are all top grade.
