I thought I had replied to this thread, something must have happened. By all means, let's put together a memorial fund and send to the family. I will take contributions for the next 14 days and then will send the proceeds on to Monte's family.

I am all in favor of retiring the "Forum Windbag" designation as well. Perhaps the title for any poster over 5,244 should be "The Full Monte".

      I Love It

      Sam,

I was going to suggest that title, but wasn't sure whether it would be appropriate.

Glad to see some sunlight come out of all this.

Or, how about a 'Full Monte' award for the most prolific poster each year.

"The Full Monte"works for me! Ain't never been accused of being bashful...

I was thinking out loud to my wife earlier this evening and was wondering about the idea of funding some woodworking classes for Kyle. At 15, wil they let him attend continuing education type classes at a local JC?

Sam, do we send Paypal thru the forum?

A scholarship for WW classes for Kyle seems appropriate.

Excellent idea! Sam, what's the best way to send a contribution?
...eight, nine, TEN! Yep! Still got all my fingers!

                titles

                How about "the forum airbag?"

I agree with Sam on the title of "The Full Monte" for any body with more than 5,244

Unfortunatly, I can't afford to send any money right now, but my donation, as will everybodys, will be our support for Kyle through these tough times, and helping him with what ever he need help with.

This is a great idea, and I will definitely contribute.

I love the "Full Monte" and "Monte's Milestone" ideas, and also wanted to throw in "Monte's Mouthpiece" as another that occured to me.

Maybe create 2 new titles to replace Windbag: maybe "Monte's Milestone" for anyone with more than 500 posts, and the most prolific poster each year get's to "wear" the "Full Monte" title for the following year (whether theyve reached the full 5000 or not? I'm not sure even Monte posted 5K in one year!).

I also want to thank Bruce Cohen for starting this thread. I am not always the best at expressing my sympathy for folks that I haven't met personally, especially not in text. Both the fund and the retired/new titles give all of us a great way to share how we felt about one of this forum's greatest and most generous members. I for one am grateful for that opportunity.

Thanks Bruce, and thanks Monte for being so worthy of this forum's sentiments.
