    These People Vote

    These people Vote

Some guy bought a new fridge for his house. To get rid of his old fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a sign on it saying: "Free to good home. You want it, you take it".
For three days the fridge sat there without even one person looking twice at it. He eventually decided that people were too un-trusting of this deal. It looked to good to be true, so he changed the sign to read: "Fridge for sale $50". The next day someone stole it.

While looking at a house, my brother asked the real estate agent which direction was North because, he explained, he didn't want the sun waking him up every morning. She asked, "Does the sun rise in the North?" When my brother explained that the sun rises in the East, (and has for sometime), she shook her head and said, "Oh, I don't keep up with that stuff"...

I used to work in technical support for a 24/7 call center. One day I got a call from an individual who asked what hours the call center was open. I told him, "The number you dialed is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week." He responded, "Is that Eastern or Pacific time?" Wanting to end the call quickly, I said, "Uh, Pacific" .

My colleague and I were eating our lunch in our cafeteria, when we overheard one of the administrative assistants talking about the sunburn she got on her weekend drive to the shore. She drove down in a convertible, but "didn't think she'd get sunburned because the car was moving".

My sister has a lifesaving tool in her car It's designed to cut through a seat belt if she gets trapped. She keeps it in the trunk. .

My friends and I were on a beer run and noticed that the cases were discounted 10%. Since it was a big party, we bought 2 cases. The cashier multiplied 2 times 10% and gave us a 20% discount...

I was hanging out with a friend when we saw a woman with a nose ring attached to an earring by a chain. My friend said, "Wouldn't the chain rip out every time she turned her head?" I explained that a person's nose and ear remain the same distance apart no matter which way the head is turned...

I couldn't find my luggage at the airport baggage area. So I went to the lost luggage office and told the woman there that my bags never showed up. She smiled and told me not to worry because she was a trained professional and I was in good hands. "Now," she asked me, "has your plane arrived yet?". .

Frightening, isn't it? On the other hand, if this were a board that allows political discussions, I'd say those "voters" explained a lot about our current situation. But since it's not, I won't.

When I was a teenager, my mother did exactly the same thing with an old couch. The only difference was that it took two days before someone stole it.

And it's not the stupid people who vote that frustrate me... it's the supposedly smart ones who DON'T.

One of the dumbest things that ever happend to me was an event in Japan.

I usually print out address labels in Japanese to use on most in-country mail. I did this for an overnight letter to Tokyo from Toyota, about 200 kilometers or so.

Next day, the letter was in my mail box. I went to the local PO and asked "Why"?

PO Reply: "It must be addressed correctly."

Me: "What is wrong with the way I addressed it?"

          Them: "Nothing"

Me: "Then why didn't you send it?"

Them: "You are a foreigner and we were not sure if you knew the correct way to address it."

          Me: "But it is correct."

Them: " That is correct, but you still are a foreigner and we were not sure if you really knew the correct way or if you were just guessing."

I later found out that some of our organization's personnel had the same problems in other areas after they just moved into a neighborhood.

I had an even dumber experience with the Drivers License office. And these people are supposed to be educated!

I wouldn't worry too much about them voting. It has occured to me long ago that voting no longer has any meaning. The ruling elite (primarily major corporations) decide their course for the future, and agree on what party and what candidate will be better suited to carry it out (population generally expects one thing from democrats, and another from republicans, so they try to keep it consistent), and then media is instructed to swing the vote the needed way. The population is kept neatly divided in half to make votes very close and this easy to swing. And the checks and balances system is neatly in place so that if some overly popular but unwanted candidate accidentally gets elected, they can always swing the Congress the other way.

In the meantime, education system is built to keep people mostly dumb, lest they figure things out. It is all a big conspiracy.

scorrpio is near correct. But when only 20-30% bother to vote, "Democracy" is little more than a joke. Congress is bought and paid for. And we expect them to change the system?

One spring cleaning, we took the old junker couch out to the curb. I bet my wife dinner and a movie it would be gone within a half hour. She took the bet. 20 Minutes later, it was gone! We went to dinnner (sushi) and a movie (with subtitles and boobs).

When we got back, they had returned our couch to the curb.

Whassamatter!! Isn't my junk GOOD ENOUGH FOR YA?!?!?!

P.S. I had to buy her dinner and a movie, too!

Who is King George? George V died years ago! When has any monarch understood the political structure of our representive republic and why are you even bothering to reply quoting him?

Or were you pointedly referring to someone else named George; if so methinks that type of political speach is FORBIDDEN IN THIS FORUM!

In my view Bill posted in the spirit of the forum rules without making a pointed political comment. This topic has since veered away from that subject.
