i agree with you 100%. there are hundreds of internet sites devoted to discussion about politics, religion etc. allowing that to develop and take root on this site would, i feel, eventually lead to trouble.
the site is great the way it is - i don't come here for controversy. instead i look for help, information and to gain from the experience of others who share the same enjoyment of using the bt3xxx and woodworking in general.

Knowing how hectic your present schedule is, I'm sorry you had to intervene in this situation. As I stated in my earlier post,I thought all this silly "B%&@ S^&%" was dead and buried. But unfortunately, it wasn't. I still think we should do as before. Police ourselves as we used to. What you have provided for us means too much to me to let somebody screw it up. So hopefully this mess will be buried and remain so.

Well, I missed all the hoopla too apparently!
I always did think the purpose of a woodworking forum was woodworking, so whatever happened, I guess I'm glad it's done too. BTW, hand tools rock! [8D] I just got a #6 Bailey on ebay. Hope I don't get ripped off!

Thanks Sam! Those policies are designed the protect the integrity of the forum that we all love so much. We certainly don't want to degrade to lowness of other forums that allow themselves to be highjacked, exploited by ranters and ravers and attempt esteem themsleves by ponificating endlesly about nothing.
