I broke the regulator off of my cheap coleman portable compressor over a year ago. Since I was unable to remove the remnants of the broken pipe with an easy-out, I wrote it off.
Two weeks ago, I received a copy of Westways magazine from AAA. Inside was a $39.99 coupon for the Harbor Freight 95275 3 Gallon Pancake air compressor.
It took two trips to the store to lay my hands on one, but I'm very favorably impressed. Overall this seems to a quality unit - better than the Coleman unit it replaced. The unit is fairly light and seems to be good quality. The regulator is protected by plastic housing and the overall form is quite compact. The housing includes a covered storage pocket which could hold inflation needles or a small tire chuck. It also includes provisions for cord storage.
I did need to purchase a male quick connnect as it was not included.
In use, my compressor to 3 mins 35 secs to completely fill the tank to 100 psi. It also drove 14 18ga staples, before it cycled.
I'd classify this compressor as another HF gem!
