    Announcing the next chapter

It is my pleasure to go public.
Two domains have been purchased for the next chapter in BT3Central's life as a community. The forum staff has been busy and we should be able to start our new fund drive soon. We will soon also have a new host as well as a forum software upgrade.

To us this will always be BT3Central.com but to new members we will also now be know as either SawdustZone.com (or .org). Our new and upgraded forum will go by both names and exactly how we will make that work is still under discussion but might be something like "Welcome to BT3Central.com your SawdustZone.com where we discuss much more than just tablesaws; we like turing lumber into sawdust as well as finer things!" Hopefully you get the idea. Your input is welcome of course and actually encouraged as this is your community. We hope that by expanding the name we will promote membership growth as well as participation and posting. The nuts and bolts of it will be three domians pointing to the same forum.

If you are great with graphics and or creative and can come up with how we can use both names together there is a strong possiblity that we'll be able to present you with an award. A contest of sorts. Come up with the new logo and it has been offered that you could win a Shark Guard package or perhaps a merchandise package from a different vender. Details of that coming soon.

I am excited about our future as a community. Hopefully you are as well. Thanks so much for your support.

For those of you that have the burning desire to donate before we get the new fund drive up, which takes a bit of scripting, we have a PayPal account under the name of bt3sawdust(at)Gmail(dot)com.

A $10. donatiion will get you a years (12 months) of forum perks: ad free should we go that route, custom avatar, image hosting, possibly more.

BW, I'll be donating as soon as the Eagle be-poops itself Next Wednesday.

        Suggestion:

Paypal has scripts available free so that you can put one at the top or bottom or middle of every page. It takes a lot of work out of scripting your own.

I would suggest simpifying to one name with homage to BT3Central.

How about: Welcome to Sawdustzone.com home of the BT3k.

            Or

Sawdustzone.com, it's more than just saws and dust.

Shep we are discussing the possibilities of how to interface the two damain names. We're talking about having a contest about that as well as a new Logo. An announcement will be coming soon as we secure confirmation from possible prize sponsors.

I like the name of SawdustZone and that as the URL. I personally don't see a need to have "BT3" in the URL.

However a redirection if people do log into BT3Central will be beneficial.

ON the home page in an easily noted font size - add the wording of something similar:

                      "Formerly BT3Central."

                      Just my opinions.

Yes. When we migrate to the new server it will be Bt3Central and also SawdustZone.com. The existing thread history and articles will still be available. The "new" site will be in essence the same site with the exception on where it is hosted, software upgrade, and a site re-design to reflect both names to encourage membership growth. We will continue to own the Domain Bt3Central.com as well as the newly purchased domains SawdustZone.com (.org). The meat and potatoes version is that whenever you type in any of the three domain names you will be directed to the same site.
