Please welcome BT3Central's new Site Admin

    Greetings,

As the "founder" of BT3Central, I have always relied heavily on moderators to help manage the site. In June of 2005 I had to officially pass the torch of day to day adminstrative duties to Thom2 so that I could focus more on my family. Thom served in that largely thankless position for over 2 years with (regrettably) little to no recognition from me. Thom made the decision to step down as the site admin for BT3Central a short time ago. His years of service to BT3Central will continue to guide the site for years to come.

Since I am not around on a day to day basis, I need an admin to help me with the "care and feeding" of the site. When I started to think about finding a new admin, the first name that popped into my head was Black Walnut. MarK has been a dedicated member of BT3Central from literally day one. He knows the sites history, and knows how the community works. He was a natural choice for the position. Much to my delight, he accepted my offer to become BT3Central's next Site Admin.

So.... please help me welcome Black Walnut in his new capacity as BT3Central.com's Site Admin.

Let me just say that I'm relieved that you're promoting from within again.

Hey Black Walnut, I have a couple of political/religious threads I'll be starting soon. We'll get you off with a bang!

I know you are kidding. I have hopes that we will not have topic/ posts that cross the line. Having to erase another's words is not something that I will take lightly.

I promise I will not be any stranger than I already am!

Thanks for the warm welcome all! I can assure you that most users will not even notice the change of the guard, save for my user name added in a few places where it formerly was not. This forum has since day one done an excellent job of self-moderation. With the fine folks we have as members that is simply not likely to change. I have the utmost respect for Sam, Adele, and the other moderators. Be assured that their opinions will be consulted whenever needed.

With the new job comes the fringe benefit of being able to help the members in more ways than just posting and replying to topics. I'll get notified when someone is having problems joining and then logging in. I once made a promise to "be unselfish in service ... to others" and it is with that spirit of service that I agreed to take on this responsibility.

                      Sam,

Mark is a great choice with a level head, extraordinary common sense and a wife that knows how to keep even him straight!

Good choice, Sam. You have always managed to make great choices so far with the exception of one. Something fishy about that one

I'll second that. It's a big job that gets little praise.

I hope you realize this means you're going to have to come up with a custom user title that's a h3ll of a lot catchier than that "Charter Member" nonsense that's under your name now.

Congrats, Mark. I can't think of any better hands this job could have been placed in.

And yes ... thank, you, Thom, wherever you are. We miss ya, buddy.
