If you do not extend your subscription, access will be removed.

The above was the msg I recently received from BT3Central. I am a "Gold Patron" and was told my paid subscription is about to expire, but the date wasn't given. I didn't realize that I was buying a subscription, I thought I made a donation to the site. Since registration is "free", why would my access be removed if I haven't re-donated by the time the unknown "paid subscription" expires? Or is this a scam msg like some others out there? I haven't been around much lately due to other obligations, so maybe I missed something?

The Patron contribution gives you certain "perks" (use of the new gallery, ability to have a custom avatar, that warm fuzzy feeling deep in your heart, etc.) The Patron period lasts one year. You will still have full access to all forums, articles, etc. The only part that "expires" are the "perks".

Thanks for the explaination. Sounds good. I just added another year.

If this should be in another area, please move it. I didn't intend to take up space asking a question if it should be reserved for just registration help/info.
