This project is my version of a Shaker table. Patterened after a round stand in [u]In the Shaker Style</u> Taunton Press, 2001. I've been wanting to make one of these ever since buying the book. The challenge gave me the opportunity needed. I used Minwax gel stain cherry to color the wood and sprayed a few coats of Deft.

The legs are attached with sliding dovetails.
As mentioned by Scott Muth the 2x6's available in our area are rather poor for furniture use. I choose the best regular "fir" one my local lumber yard had. The only other material is two #6x 1 1/2" wood screws holding the top on. A wedge holds the sub-top to the post.
Note to judges: I entered both categories so place this wherever you like.
