    Tried new lathe out

My neighbor was kind enough to help me get the new lathe in to my basement, after I got the legs assembled on the new lathe. He turns also so he understood my need to get it set up. So I had to give it a try and see how it worked. The motor is much stronger than the mini, or at least mine, so am very pleased so far. Did a couple different bowls, one was a purple heart bowl not shown and another was a bowl turned from Bocote. Its in the picture as well as two others that I had turned previously on the mini.

Something more than just those great bowls has my interest. What do you have them sitting on? Man! Thats a nice slice. [8D]

That slice was given to me by one of my customers on my mail route.
His son had given him two finished slices of Redwood burl, and he knew I appriciated beautiful wood, and he had only room for one of them. You should have seen the other one!
Thanks for all the nice comments
