My neighbor was kind enough to help me get the new lathe in to my basement, after I got the legs assembled on the new lathe. He turns also so he understood my need to get it set up. 
So I had to give it a try and see how it worked. The motor is much stronger than the mini, or at least mine, so am very pleased so far. Did a couple different bowls, one was a purple heart bowl not shown and another was a bowl turned from Bocote. Its in the picture as well as two others that I had turned previously on the mini.
