    quicky sharpening project

I slapped together a little grinding station out of some shop scraps over the weekend. it's based on this plan and it only took around an hour to build but it saved me $85 or whatever the wolverine base costs. I gave it a test run and threw a quick edge on 3 or 4 tools in 2mins! didn't even screw any of em up, it's just that simple . Then I chopped off a bit of a block of basswood I had in the shop and turned a bunn foot...GOOD GAWD DANG what a difference! the tool just slid across the wood, even the parting tool cut easily when before it was like using a blunt...I dunno, fill in your own blunt object. now I just gotta find someplace in my shop to store the thing [}]

(I need another threaded insert thingy for the other side)

Sharp tools make all the difference for sure! I can always tell when my tools are getting dull as I tend to start forcing them rather then letting the wood come to them. Looks to me like you did a nice job on your jig, saved money and have sharp tools so you just cant beat that!

Nice one, Peter! Anything that makes a chore into a breeze is a real plus and that takes some doing with sharpening - well done!

I agree with the above comments. Nothing beats sharp.

I use a similar setup. Really makes all the difference!
