    Sanding inside vase

I was finishing up my first vase, with a narrow neck, while sanding the inside my hand caught and wedged inside with the lathe turning. I am not sure how I didn't break every bone in my hand but thankful I just bruised my ego.

Any hints on the SAFE way to do this?

    Doh![:0]

I have seen many people including Raffan make a Sanding Stick. I have even considered the mounting of a "Flap Sander" to the end of a shaft.

A stick with sand paper is the second best thing to do. The BEST thing is making the neck too small for fingers to reach in past the underside of the lip Glad you got away with out more serious injury! I have done the same thing and it HURTS!
