Enhancing the bowl gauge for natural edge bowls

Natural edge bowls don't have an even edge, which is unfriendly to the "free-hand" design of my Reed Gray-inspired gauge. In this video, I add a bed-base to adapt for use on natural edge bowls. Thanks for watching!

That is a great idea. I'm glad someone else peruses a bunch of links and videos and makes them into succinct posts or videos. I am too lazy and have too little time. I enjoyed this video and will probably make me a depth gauger. In the past, I have had an unusual ability to sense measurements, depths and thicknesses, (but not on a metal lathe scale ), however that ability is decreasing with age.

Glad it was useful for you Hank. I too have a good sense of spatial relationships for the most part, however, I have never trusted my sense of depth for bowls and using the other style of gauge was always iffy for me. This one seems to work pretty good for me.
