    First turning

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of taking a turning class and met GeekMom (Karen). We had a great time and below is my first ever turn on the lathe. A friend is willing to lend a mini lathe to use so there may be more turned works in the near future.

That is beautiful. If that is your first I am anxious to see future turnings.

Nice! My first attempts only converted chunks of firewood into smaller chunks of firewood...

As Ken asked, what kind of wood is that?
