    Busy weekend

I have been making wedding gifts all weekend.
The lampshade is Norfolk Island Pine, and the base is black walnut.
    The cane is dymondwood.
    The goblet is mahogany.

Yup another wedding goblet. The third will be tomorrow night, and I will show the construction steps with that one.

Nice work Chuck! If Mudder gives you a "You suck!" it's really a compliment.

Beautiful work! Where do you get your hardware for the cane?

I think that is the first cane I have seen posted. The lamp and shade are great. Any worries about heat from the bulb damaging the shade? I can't see any vents in the top.

The bulb is a 6W so it is not that big, and the harp holds it about 2" above the bulb. The mushroom cap shape allows convection to move the air underneith so it does not get all that warm. I had the lamp on for 8 hrs and the shade was not even warm.

BTW, Scott my name is John not Chuck and no worries about mudder I know him well.

The handle for the cane comes from Lee Valley. The base is a candlestick that I cut appart and turned onto the shaft. Then capped with a 5/8 chair foot.

Ok, the goblet pictures are going to be a little delayed. I have been working on other projects and taxes so I could not get the pictures done. I will try tomorrow.
