My first boxes

Big thanks to kwgeorge - Followed his instructions: http://www.theturnersshop.com/ and cranked out my first couple of boxes. Couple of major 'catches' had me counting digits. I have to learn to turn end grain... Anyway - thanks for looking - (cherry)

Beautiful boxes, Joe. I used his directions also. Ive got to learn how to roll that seam where the lid meets the base. I'm paranoid that I'm going to catch and destroy the whole thing. Yours look's good. We seem to have lost kwgeorge, but your nice work should bring him back.

Nope, you guys have not lost me! It is just I have several “MAJOR” projects going at work right now and have been working like crazy! I work all day and then connect to work from home and start again. When I do a free moment I am working on my 2X6 project which is almost complete. I am to the point of putting finish on it. As a matter of fact I just came in from the shop and I am about to go back to work on my paying job. I also am being forced to travel again, I will be in Philly a week from Monday and then in Seattle early next month.

I have been reading the forum every chance I get even though I have had little time to post and I have to tell you that I think you guys are doing GREAT! I am so glad that my ramblings and pictures have been of good use to you. I have several more articles I am working on and I even recorded my 2X6 project.

So you guys just keep holding me up while I’m tied up and keep those pictures coming. Very enjoyable to see such good work.

WOW from me too! That is beautiful. Great contrasting lines. Small contrasts make huge differences. Now for me to be creative! Thanks for the ideas.

Thanks for all the nice words. Hard to see the rough spots in these pics. [] This stuff is such a blast to do - and the kwgeorge instructions really made it easy for the beginner (me). I have been burning lines into most everything I touch the days (pens, spindles, and now boxes.)
