Hey Sam,
This forum will be a great asset to your new site.
I'd like to point out a couple of things if I may.

1. Norton Internet Security blocks the registration process at the policy acceptance page. When enabled, the page reloads after clicking Accept. Not a problem on your end, but a note to temporarily disable NIS might be helpful.
2. The generic Snitz Forum e-mail addys are in the policy page, not Sam Condor addys.

Another option for the drill press pen vise.

This already could have been mentioned but I couldn't find it. This afternoon I had my 4 jaw mini chuck from woodcraft in the Jet and I put a 7/8" pen blank in it and put a drill chuck in the tail stock with the appropriate drill in. I was able to drill a perfect hole straight through without problem. I had to stop once and reset the tail stock because I didn't have enough movement in the drill chuck/tailstock. It was easy and accurate and takes me less time than setting up the drill press jig. I checked and it would have worked just as accurate with a 5/8" blank. Hope this helps somebody.

Over here in lala land where the kind of wood for great pens are rare, I try to make my 7/8 in blanks do two pens. So far on making 3 blanks into 6 pens, I only had one blowout, and that was because I hurried an ebony drilling. I still saved the other half so nothing was really lost.

I love trying new things even if they don't turn out like I was hoping. I have thought about using the chuck in the tail stock and will give this a try in the near future.
