    1st Box and Captive Ring

    Hey Sam,
This forum will be a great asset to your new site.
I'd like to point out a couple of things if I may.

    1. Norton Internet Security blocks the registration process at the policy acceptance page. When enabled, the page reloads after clicking Accept. Not a problem on your end, but a note to temporarily disable NIS might be helpful.
    2. The generic Snitz Forum e-mail addys are in the policy page, not Sam Condor addys.

Thanks for all your effort providing this site.

Sam, I'm doing the same thing. I've proposed this to the boss for the Projects I work with. He will be looking at your forum, and telling me his thoughts.

        1st Box and Captive Ring

This is the my first box and my first captive ring, bare wood (maple). I still have to take about 1/8 inch off the bottom of the lid for the grain to match. Still have a lot to learn. Thanks to everyone here and a few other forums, but mainly here. Lid has to be touched up and trimmed. Sorry about that. Any comments good or bad will be humbly appreciated.

          Very nice Chuck.

Sometimes I hide the parting line with a bead or a series of lines.
That is quite an accomplishment, a first box that small. I am impressed.

That looks good for a 1st box. You should be proud.

Nice Chuck! I want to start making some small boxes too. This is an inspiration to get started. Very sharp and clear lines for something so small.

BTW, I just realized that you are the same Chuck that is on the IAP forum.

Thanks everybody, and thanks mudder, I'll try your parting line recommendation tomorrow. And Hank, yes I'm the same one. Look at kwgeorge's site and he has step-by-step box making instructions with pictures. And the people we have on this forum make my stuff look like an old chunk of coal. I'm still a newbie

Very good, Chuck, especially for a first. I hope to try captive rings this weekend.

Don't put yourself down like that, Chuck. That is some nice work. A lot of folks wouldn't even attempt a captured ring turning.
