I had Time For One Today

This was turned from a glue up of 1974 Boston Whaler mahogany.
I used Gorilla glue and couldn't use it for the project in mind due to the glue line. I couldn't waste the wood so here is the result.

If the skipper heard you call that deck a floor he would throw you through that little round window

Nice looking work, but why so tall?

I guess I felt tall while turning it, I turn what looks good to me at the time.
The wood portion is 2 5/8" and the stopper portion is 3". I think the slimness makes it look taller than it is but I couldn't make it fatter with the blank I had glued up.

I haven't had any shop time for a week except making some shelves for our boat show booth. I will be working it through Sunday and then tear it down on Monday. I should be able to get back in the shop for some fun and relaxation next week..
On second thought I may sleep for a couple days first.
