    I HIT THE MOTHERLODE!!!!!!!!!!

The pastor of my church called me up this weekend. Here's a loose account of the conversation:

Pastor: "Hey, Den, can you use some teak wood to turn?"

Den: "Sure. How much ya got and how much do you want for it?"

Pastor: "Oh, it's free. My uncle has it and doesn't know what to do
with it. I'll bring you the first post. It's 4"x4"x4 feet."

Den: "The first post? How much does he have?"

Pastor: "A big pile of it in his back yard. All 4x4x4's"

    Den: <THUD!....Den passes out>

Pastor: "Den?....Den?.. Are you there, Den?"

As a thank you, I turned a box out of it for my pastor's aunt and uncle. The box isn't Ken's calibre, but it turned out really well. I took a picture, but I have to have the film developed before I can post it. I used many of the techniques I've read about on Ken's site and from asking questions. (Whether you like it or not, Ken, you've become a mentor.)

The moral of the story? "Go to church and you'll get blessed in ways you didn't count on". (shameless plug, but I'm really into God. No offense intended to anyone)---Den

Well that is great! Good wood score for sure. I glad you turned a box for him, that is a nice gesture.

At my office the company has a mentoring program and it is part of my PE that I mentor two people this year and I already have them but I guess a third one will be ok. Thanks for the nice complement.

A big pile of Teak 4x4's 4' long...several words to describe you (mostly derogatory) come to mind.[:0] I'll stick with "Congrats on one helluva haul!"
