    Mallets

My first time trying to follow a plan. Had some trouble with the first (smaller) piece, but the second one was close to the plans (Wood Mag July 2004). I am really starting to like turning. Rock Maple turned a LOT easier than I was expecting...

Your mallets are too nice to beat anything with.
Now you got to make a "working" model and put those in the presenststio case that you must now build to house all of your beautiful turnings.

Thanks for the nice compliments. The shorter mallet was the result of a pretty bad catch as I was rounding off the end of the first one. :~) I am so much swallowed up in the fun of turning. The nice thing, is it's fairly easy to get going, and it's obvious once you get going, that there is a TON to learn.

The rings on these pieces were skewed lines, which you hold wire to, to burn/singe in the lines. I used 22 gauge. some Neat trick.
