    Looking for videos on sharpening

So I've got a lathe setup and I need to learn how to sharpen my lathe chisels.

I have a variety of lathe chisels (roughing gouge, skew, scraper, etc) and a slow speed grinder with 60 grit and 120 grit wheels. Someone also gave me a Wolverine-like jig but I haven't tried adding that yet.

I'd appreciate any YouTube links for chisel sharpening. I see a bunch but don't know who the trusted sources are.

I plan on doing some spindles first like the kind used in Windsor chairs.

    Thanks,
    Paul

    Paul,
These links are to a two-part video by Wolverine via Woodcraft, worth a look.

    And here's one by CSUSA.

There are many decent videos, watching multiple may help to see different methods.

Alan Lacer has some decent articles about sharpening on his web site (click the Articles button): http://woodturninglearn.net

And check out the American Association of Woodturners site and search for a local chapter (Maryland appears to have 5):

Woodturners usually are pretty social, and having someone show you beats a video anytime!

I'm a pretty big fan of Cap'n Eddie Castelin for turning advice. He has tons of videos on YouTube incudling several on sharpening.
