    At it again!

Well I am at it again! I need to turn a piece that will be rather thin but will be about 15” across. It seems as though the new motor was considerably longer than the old one and restricted the size I could turn outboard.

So on my quest to better my lathe I built and welded a new motor mounting bracket and reversed the motor. As you can see here I have also added a link belt and real pulleys. I built the bracket very solid and have no real vibration.

Now I can rotate the head and do what I need to do.

I still have to build belt covers and covers for the miscellaneous holes left from removing different things from the lathe.

The next modification is a hand wheel for the external spindle shaft. I am really starting to get happy with this lathe but I think I messed up my warranty!

Messed up the warranty?? Sounds like you rebuilt an entirely different machine!

Dang ken, next time are you gonna cast your own bed too? hehe.
Its really looking good, when its all done you should have a chat with the guys that designed it in the first place. Maybe then us lazy guys could get our hands on a Ken signiture series grizzly
