      Yeah Scott I am good, thanks for thinking about me though! Yeah I have been some kind of busy for sure. After the week long Christmas break from work, it has been extreme there. I have not had a free minute to even think about checking the boards. In the evening I have been studying several machinist books I picked up and reading everything I can on the subject to get my mind together on the projects I am about to tackle.

      I got to use the new lathe today though. My tooling is not here yet and is going to show up about Monday and sometime this week my QCTP should be in also. I did get to use the lathe today though. I came across a 1” pulley and decided to install it on the Grizzly with a link belt. I of course ran into several problems. The first was that the grease that was on the spindle had hardened. I could not get the adjustable pulleys off nor could I move the speed handle. I finally had to pull it off with a wheel puller. Then when I tried to install the new pulley I found it was way loose so after measuring everything I found that the OD of the internal spindle is not 1” as I assumed but rather .950”. I made a boring bar of sorts out of a piece of 3/8” HSS and machined a copper bushing to an ID of .955” and an OD of 1”. Here is the results and if you look close you can see the new bushing.



      Also we went running around yesterday and I came across a GREAT find! Cant believe I bought flat wood! Now I have to decide what to make out of it. Can you believe it! Quilted Canary.



      I did get to make a box today also. I am still experimenting with form so I made this out of Hard Maple.



      Just wait to you see what I have coming as soon as I get some Aluminum 3” rod ordered. You are going to want me to make you one I know!
