    A Few From The Week

I'm heading out to Canada's premier woodworking show this weekend and wanted to have some pens to show to friends that I'll be meeting up with. I'll be taking these three along with me.

    1) Gold Slimline in Elm

    2) Green Dragon Acrylic on a Gold Sedona

    3) Spalted Maple Round Top European with upgraded pocket clip

    Thanks for having a look.

Three to be proud to show off Richard - that spalted maple is especially attractive.

Beautiful! That maple looks pretty dark, did you use oil on it?

On Saturday, Richard and his wife came to the Canadian Home Workshop Show (I was there for three days helping 400 kids make small book case, but that another story) and he brought those pens with him. I must say that as nice as these pens are in pictures, they are more stunning and comfortable in person. My favourite was also the one from Maple.

Richard also showed me another pen (cannot remember the specie) that I liked as well (not pictured here).

It was great seeing you again and I hope one of these years I can come up (down) to the Hamilton Wood Show!

Thank you for the kind words friends. Turaj was mighty busy with all the kids but I can't think of a better person to plant the woodworking seed.

I finished the maple pen with multiple coats of blo/ca. I've switched to using walnut oil( thanks for the heads up Dick) and it seems much lighter. I have another spalted maple that I'll try it on and see what happens.

Fine looking pens Richard. That Spalted Maple is an eye popper. Anxious to see the same timber done with the walnut oil.
