    Tried a Sierra

Completed this one today, a Chrome Sierra, wood type unknown (but very nice to turn .) I like the grain - the blank shown is the same as used for the pen (please let me know what it is if you recognize it), and the greenish tint "warms" to browns and darker with the BLO/CA finish. Thanks for looking.

Very nice work Bill. Sorry, I can't ID the wood.

Finally figured out the species when shopping the Woodcraft spring sale today and picking up some nice turning stock. Seems I got ahold of Lignum Vitae. I liked it well enough that I picked up another chunk today, along with some Redheart and Cocobolo. These exotics are "aromatic" to me, which I really enjoy since the smell of the sawdust is a huge part of my woodworking passion.
