    A Couple Today

One of my regular customers asked for a cartridge pen for her husband and wanted it wrapped in wood. I made up two to give her a choice.
The 30 cal is wrapped in Honduran Rosewood burl, the over/Under is wrapped in Honduran Rosewood burl and Redheart. They are both finished with 8 coats of BLO/CA.

Really beautiful work, as always, Dick. Just wonderin' if burl is harder to turn?

      Hi Dick,

I always enjoy seeing your craftsmanship. Thanks for posting.

I looked at all your wonderful pens in your Piscaweb album. I want to step up to some new kits. Question - what is the difference between a Jr Statesman II and a Jr Gent II? Some of yours have threaded ends, some don't. Are there two different ends with the kit?

      Thanks,

      - Lonnie

Burls are no harder to turn than any other wood. Use sharp tools and light cuts.

The Jr statesman and Jr Gent are both available in postable and non postable (can't screw the cap onto the top of the writing portion) versions. The Jr Statesman is a step up in glitz from the Jr Gent.
