I'm Going To Try Something New

I went to Woodcraft today for some pen kits and also picked up a couple bottle stopper kits. I have wanted to give them a try and it looks like now is the time.

I glued up some mahogany and maple and will pop it onto the lathe tomorrow. I'll post a pic when it is finished if I'm not ashamed of it.

Those winestoppers are fun and quick to make. If you find out you like them I have a source for the same bottle stoppers that are a little cheaper than Woodcraft. I like doing them out of Cocobolo and Olivewood.

yea thats what i like about em too ,quick results and fun.
gave a few as stocking stuffers this year,
but i finally used the PSI style one,and it doesnt really fit that well in some bottles,(the ones i tried) im wondering if the berea brand or cork stoppers work better...my dad for instance has some open bottles in the fridge that lay on their side with the cork stuck back in ,this wouldnt work with the psi one.ill just have to try more types.
