    The Doberman

This is a gold cigar pen done in rust and black acrylic. LOML said it reminded her of the colours found in a doberman and the name just stuck.

That's really a beautiful pen Richard. It looks like it has a good feel. I've got a question. I've seen the different shapes of pens and was wondering if you have to regularly check the fit of the turning to the fittings as you make it?

Thanks for the compliment C-man. When I turn a pen, I use the bushings for the particular kit to size the ends so that it will fit into the pen hardware. I also periodically check the various bushings before turning a pen to make sure I havn't lost too much in the diameter of the bushings enough to affect the end result of the pen. Otherwise, I shape the pen to what ever looks good-no two being the same. I feel like the the sculpter who said that he removes everthing that doesn't look like XXXXXXX.

I hope I have been able to answer your question.
