Here is what I did today

After visiting LOML in the hospital I retired to the shop.

This proves that my shop does get used.

These two are walnut turned for a customer

These ebony pens are gifts to a couple neighbors

So how did you like the Ebony? I find it powders when cut but man can you cut it clean. It gets all over my skin and turns everything black. On the plus side I hardly have to use sandpaper on it.

Very nice work by the way.

I like working with ebony. I does seem to dull the tools rather quickly and the dust combined with a little CA will have to wear off my hands.
The way it turns I probably don't have to but I sand through 600, these were finished with Behlen's.

I haven't found a wood yet that I don't like to work, some better than others though.

Beautiful pens, love the ebony. Now I'm gonna have to break down and turn a couple myself. I've not heard anything good about turning ebony from my local turning buddies, but from you and Kens comments, I'm gonna give it a shot.

I really like your "flared" design on the slimlines too. Not too much, but just enough to keep 'em from being.... I don't know.... straight?...

I use Woodcraft as the source for everything.
The gold & black pen kit is #124635
The satin nickel pen kit is #141656
They also have matching pencil kits
                  The bushings are #06R03

I have been very happy with the quality of their pen kits.

Dick, the pens are stunning. I especially like the ebony, too. How is your wife doing? We're holding you both in our prayers.
