New Pen turning finish

Some of you who visit www.penturners.org may know about this but a Lou Metcalf over there is selling TSW pen finish. After using Behlens, Crystal cote, and CA for finish this one takes the cake. It is a great finish Scott.

If anyone wants to buy some you need to join the IAP. (it's free) and if you want the intro price, you need to do it before the end of the year. Lou cooked up a real great finish that is sure to make quite a few converts.

I agree. I'm very new to turning, but I've tried the same other stuff as Scott mentioned and TSW is excellent. And, it smells dang good!. LOML and I are still 'discussing' what the background fragrance is.
BTW Scott and mudder, what is your application technique for TSW?

If you got the stuff from Lou at penturners the fragrance is cocanut.

Small is about the size of one of those Carmex lip balm containers. The large is about the diameter of a 50 cent piece. Spendy the the finish is great and I minimize waste by rubbing a Qtip in it and apply it on the peice. Follow his instructions on the forum and you will be pleased. The key is letting it sit on the piece before buffing allowing it to bond. If you are hasty your impatience will reap just OK results. I have been finishing at night and redoing a second coat in the AM. It leaves an incredibly smooth finish. Your pens will feel like velvet in your hand.
