    A Gift

Here is the pen that I received in the IAP pen swap from Lou at Heritage Pens. The fit and finish are awesome.

That is very cool! Any idea how it was done? Thanks.

The pieces are laser-cut, and available in kit form for several pen types. Each piece is numbered, and an included diagram tells you where they go as they are glued to the tubes. Once glued up, the assembly gets sanded and finished. Very little turning is required. Here is a link to one source for the kits... If you google "puzzle pen" you'll find many others. There is also a very neat kit of similar nature, done in a "Stars-n-Stripes" theme.

Very nice. I keep telling myself to participate in those pen swaps, but, I can't help thinking whoever would get a pen from me would be shortchanged. I've seen some of the pictures posted over at IAP; my skills are not at that level.
