    One Piece Cigars

Haven't posted anything here in a while.

A couple of pens I made this weekend.

This is a piece of cocobolo that has 2 coats of thin CA and two medium.

This one is a piece of Curly Pink Ivory for the wife.

      Nice cigars!

Very nice! What kit do you use for one piece cigars? Thanks
      Thanks:

Great looking pens. The cigar looks much better as a one piece.

Same as the 2-piece, but the assembly is different, you need a long drill bit, and you leave out some of the parts.

Any cigar kit ... the only parts you don't use is the Center Band and ring.

The only extra thing you need is a Sierra tube.

              I make mine aprrox 4" 1/4".

I drill out the blank with a 6" long 1/4" drill for a couple of reasons.

1 - I like a pilot hole and because you are drilling a long ways when you use your 10mm drill bit the 1/4" helps clear the cuttings.

2 - After a pilot hole you are basically reaming the hole.

After you drill the blank with a 10mm measure the length of the Sierra tube plus a tad bit on a 27/64" drill and dill one end for this tube.

Glue the upper Cigar tube and the Sierra tube into the blank.

To use cigar bushing simply cut a 1/4" wide piece of masking tape and wrap around one cigar bushing until it's a snug fit in the Sierra tube.

Press the Nib Adapter and the Twist Holder into the lower Cigar Tube.

Grind, file turn the twist holder flush with the tube until it slips easily into the sierra tube.

Everything now assembles from the bottom and you twist the nib to extract the refill.
