    Top Hat Bottle Stoppers

One of the turners at IAP posted pictures of some he had done so I thought I would give it a try.
In the first picture left to right they are Tulip Wood, Marble Wood & Zebra Wood. The finish is Hut PPP.

Those are so awesome Dick. I may have to try that! I'm asuming that you drilled into the "hat" with a forstner bit before drilling for the mandrell?

There is another Idea I am going to have to try. Just as soon as I get caught up on all the projects that slipped by this summer. I did manage to turn a pen on Monday, didn't come out very good, bad finish, will have to sand and refinish. It was a Baron with live Oak. Finished it in CA, lot of tiny scratches I didn't see untill I polished it. Need to get back in practice. Did a bunch of Pens with the Grandkids and their own cast Alumilite blanks, but nothing serious.
