    Teardrop Stopper

Chrome teardrop stopper with a mixture of hardwoods.

[No light tent this time, just used loml's little camera( has the macro setting) with sheet of paper curled around the back]

Very nice. For an interesting effect, try laminations using contrasting light/dark wood in thin sections (the one you did has pretty thick pieces). Then, the contoured stoppers will have eye-popping effects on two opposite sides, similar to what happens with bold-grained woods like kingwood, zebrawood, bocote, tulipwood or tigerwood. Here's a scratch awl that Dick did in tulipwood which shows the effect you could achieve, even if you just used scrap wood.

Looks great Richard. What woods did you use? Looking at the color, did you cut up two different species? Maybe cut up the same wood, but stain them differently, they glue them back together. Just a rambling thought.
